Father
To all . . . who are loved by
God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father (Romans
1:7).
To those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father: Mercy,
peace and love be yours in abundance (Jude 1:1).
Every good and perfect gift is
from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not
change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of
truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created (James 1:17-18).
. . . your Father in heaven is
not willing that any . . . should be lost (Matthew 18:14).
“For I know the plans I have
for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the Lord Almighty (2 Corinthians
6:18).
How great is the love the
Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John
3:1)
For he chose us in Jesus
before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ . . .
(Ephesians 1:4-5).
Jesus said:
No one can come to me unless
the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me . . . no one
can come to me unless the Father has enabled him (John 6:44, 65).
All that the Father gives me
will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away (John 6:37).
My sheep listen to my voice; I
know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to
me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand (John
10:27-29).
I have shown you many great
miracles from the Father (John 10:32).
. . . the Father is greater
than I (John 14:28).
In my Father's house are many
rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a
place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and
take you to be with me that you also may be where I am (John 14:2-3).
. . . .
.
May God our Father, who loved
us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your
hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17).
Praise be to the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with
every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).
Every good and perfect gift is
from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not
change like shifting shadows (James 1:17).
“Look at the birds of the air;
they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father
feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Jesus speaking; Matthew
6:26).
“If you, though you are evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in
heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Jesus speaking; Matthew 7:11).
. . . it is . . . the Father
who gives you the true bread from heaven (John 6:32).
“Do not be afraid, little
flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Jesus
speaking; Luke 12:32).
The Father will honor the one
who serves [Jesus] (Jesus speaking; John 12:26).
And the righteous will shine
like the sun in the kingdom of their Father (Jesus speaking; Matthew 13:43).
May you know the hope to which
the Father has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the
working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him
from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above
all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given,
not only in the present age but also in the one to come (Ephesians 1:18-21).
. . . your Father is merciful
(Jesus speaking; Luke 6:36).
He is the Father of compassion
and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles (2 Corinthians
1:3).
He who dwells in the shelter
of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the
Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will
save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover
you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his
faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of
night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the
darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your
side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will
only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make
the Most High your dwelling-- even the Lord, who is my refuge--then no harm will
befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels
concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their
hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread
upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him,
for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will
be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I
satisfy him and show him my salvation” (Psalm 91:1-16).
Every good and perfect gift is
from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not
change like shifting shadows (James 1:17).
“. . . if two of you on earth
agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by the Father in
heaven” (Jesus speaking; Matthew 18:19).
. . . everything is possible
for [the Father] (Jesus speaking; Mark 14:36).
Jesus said:
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you
another Counselor to be with you forever
-
the Spirit of truth . . . But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of
everything I have said to you” (John 14:16-17).
“If anyone loves me, he will
obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and the Father and I will come to him
and make our home with him” (John 14:23).
. . . .
.
For you did not receive a
spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of
sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).
God has poured out his love
into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us (Romans 5:5).
And so we know and rely on the
love God has for us. God is love (1 John 4:16).
6:18).
